Il disco
CLATAJA is nearly an acronym and it is made up with the first letters of the words classic, tango, jazz.
It is the way that Gilda Buttà and Luca Pincini, respectively piano and cello have found to show that beyond the standardized borders of the musical kinds, some music have no borders, they go beyond, they don't finish at the borders they should, but exceed and mixture and contaminates becoming another kind.
Some calls it a "crossover", but in this disc, the composers as Astor Piazzolla and Claude Bolling, complete real incursions in the classic and in the jazz without forgetting the course of the dance and rhythm.
In "the grand tango" by Piazzolla and in the "Suite for cello and slowly jazz trio" by Bolling both represent `the 900 with all its vigour and all its will to be music for enjoyment, to get passionate, to run away.
To support this thesis of the encounter between various kinds in one that becomes unique, there is encounter with two others great musicians, Luca Bulgarelli at the bass and the Roberto Gatto at the drums.
Gilda Buttà and Luca Pincini for extraction and experience are nearer the classic, and more typically jazz players are Luca Bulgarelli and Roberto Gatto. And also "Deep", written many years ago by Roberto Gatto, succeeds in putting the last touch of magical melancholy.
It all plays, igniting and extinguishing the lights of every vanished or vivid colours.
